So yesterday I attended “the Iron Chief Of Music” for the first time ever as it was perfectly fitting my schedule since today, we are the 1st easter monday and so, I didn’t have to wake up and go to work. The competition started at midnight, I catched the samplepack.. wait, no.. the sample alone and I shat bricks.

I’m actually used to cut and edit (aka “chop”) samples and make some nice stuff but here, that was tuff. I fiddle around for 30 minutes then decided to abandon (yeah, booh) an watch BPTV instead as the democompo started and a little voice in my head said “you suck” so I had to try again.. and again.
I really worked a hour on the tune you’re hearing, there has been approx. 3 other ideas during the whole 2 hours but I don’t know, that wasn’t making the job at all. Well, this one doesn’t even… considering the other entries :/
This compo really made me thought I should use a real sampler like kontakt or Shortcircuit… because renoise sampler doesn’t let you travel n chop fastly enough for such hard deals.

It’s a tough battle of tracking skills and I missed it cause I was out all night. Check the comments, people try to describe their techniques sometimes.
